I am sure the small shank action can handle the cartridge, but the WBY is .2" longer than the 300Wm so I am not sure. Most likely some here has done it or tried though. I know my 338 Wm seems kinds cramped.
Hi can a stevens action handle a 300 wby, and even if they action can what about only being a small shank, and finally will a 300 winmag internal box magazine work.
Thanks Dean
RUMs are like woman in Stiletto heals, you know they are going to put you in the poor house, but that has never stopped anyone from pursuing them.

Looking at the reload manuals, I don't see a snits bit of difference between the 300Wm and the Weatherby. Unless you PREFER the WBY, which is fine if you do, why not just go with the Wm?
Thanks for the replys, I already have a 300wm I am a 30 cal fanatic and the 300wby is one of the few that I don't have, maybe It's me but there's just something about a weatherby.
Thanks Dean

The action will handle it just fine whether it is a small or large shank. If it is a center feed, there is enough room in the magazine port to make it a repeater. You will have to cut out a slot in the front of the magazine box to let the bullet tips stick through but it will still clear the feed ramp. I haven't built one that way yet but tested it to see if there was clearance and there is.
Looks like you have most of the 30 cal bases covered. One nice thing for sure, is you don't have to worry about having a huge variety of bullet diameters to contend with. Simple. I like simple.Originally Posted by scope eye
I have a few of those, and a 338 Wm, but I keep getting this strong pull to make it an '06 again :D. Partly because both of my sons' have 30-06's also and if we ever get to got out together again, one caliber of ammo would be real easy to keep track of.
Don't see 300 H&H on the list! :))

308 Norma Mag isn't on that list either. :D
They who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.
Hey what I really want is a 30-378, but I could do 3-4 more savage builds for that coin.
My wife asked me why do I want so many differant 30 cal's, and my reply was holding another 30 cal is like holding another woman, but without you getting upset, well for some reason she still got upset, she is not talking to me right now, I don't know why I was fondling my 243 when I said that to her so it can't be the rifles ;D
Thanks Dean
