    243 ai trim length


    Hey guys what's the trim length of 243 ai cases?

    Same as the regular .243.

    Max length, 2.045"

    Trim to length, 2.035 according to Speer.

    You'll find most AI cases will shorten slightly after fireforming. I didn't trim new cases but once they were fireformed, I trimmed them to a uniform length dependent on the shortest case in the batch.

    I don't trim untill after fireforming,then just square up the mouths,or .015 +/- less than the measured chamber,with a sinclair chamber length gage.I've
    found most brass to be much shorter than the chambers.I never depend on the recomendations for trim length,in the manuals.

    Same here. Those little plugs have saved me a lot of time and work.
