Yes, I have one with the red led mounted above the scope on my 204. I've killed 14 coyotes with it since last fall. Have made kills out to 150 yds. My eyes are old, and a younger person might stretch it out to 200 or slightly more. Eyes will show much farther, but for me I don't think I'd be sure of a positive id of an animal beyond about 165 yds which is usually more than double what you need at night.

    Re: kill light

I have one that I bought in December. Ran my trap line with it for dispatching critters and killed a grey fox Saturday night with it at 80yds. Run times are good, batteries are small, they don't seem affected by the cold and they are very compact for the light they put out. Beats my old Optronics 100yd scope light hands down.

thanks for the replies guys! looks like a good quality product that does what it claims. think i'm gonna give one a try for the night time yotes. what color do you think is best? i see they sell a pack that comes with all three but can save about $40 by sticking with one color.

Unless they are three shades of red go with the red one. :D

I agree, buy red unless you suffer from night blindness and can't see the red light. Being unfiltered red LED light, it is much brighter than a red filtered white light and illuminates eyes with a very bright reflective glow. I bought what was called a Predator Pack that includes the XLR100 dual mode red light with 2 of the 3000mAH batteries and charger and 12v adapter, a XLR250 single mode red LED with remote tailcap switch, universal mount, barrel mount, 2 of the 3000 mAH batteries, charger, and 12V adapter, camo hat with hat mount for scanning, and silent halo shield. I use the XLR100 for scanning and the XLR250 for shooting. This gives me 3 scanning batteries and 1 for shooting which should last all night no more than I shoot I was initially concerned about the power of the XLR100 for scanning, but it has lit up eyes to 300yds for me so far. I can't see the body that far, but I don't need to since I'm calling them in for a shot.

    Re: kill light

I have a Red XLR250. A friend bought the light with white, green, and red in it. The red works best for predators. The green seems to spook them, although it makes it look almost like daylight out there. What we've had good luck doing is shining the my red light to find them then turn the green lighjt on while pointed up in the air. Then slowly bring the green light down onto them while they are looking straight at you. Gives you 20-30 seconds to make a shot. I've hit a grey fox at 220 yards doing it like that.

Kill lights are the best that I have ever tried, and I have tried most of them....Google Boondockers, I just bought 3 from him a short while ago and at that time he had great pricing......He also makes a hat that a small light mounts will mount to the top......

I'm just getting into shooting at night. What range do these kill lights have? Which is the longest range? Thanks, Tony

    Re: kill light

For the xlr250 they say the are good to 250 yards. That would be the shooters choice. I myself do not see as good night as well others do. That being said I feel good about taking a 180 yard shot with the red light. I can identify my target and not just the eyes at that range. With the green easily 250 yards. Oc coarse the quaility of your scope will play a big part in that. also the maginfication you use will too. You'll want something with the maximum light transmission and large exit eye pupil dia. I myself use a Redfield Reveloution 3-9x50. Normally set it on 3 to get on target them zoom up some. About the 5-6 range before the scope starts to get to dark at those ranges to see the target. It's best to let them come in/call them in to a much closer range.

I'd agree, Boondock-Outdoors is the place to go.

Their customer service is top notch, they have really earned my repeat business.
