    Looking for a new barrel

I am looking for a 7mmRemMag barrel. I have a Lite Varmint CBI in 6.5 Creemoor that I just finished and it seems to shoot very well. This 7mm is my hunting rifle so I want to keep the weight down but was thinking a lite varmint that is fluted would be light enough. I also want a muzzle brake on it. I am shooting 162gr Hornady SST now but may go to 168gr Berger VLD's. What would be a good twist? Could I go with a 24" barrel with brake that would make it closer to 26"?

It's America you can do what you want within the Law! Seriously, for a "Hunter" would you want it any longer?

No need to go any longer. I have been looking at muzzle brakes and now wondering what it takes to install one? Does the barrel have to be cut and threaded? Seems the ones from Ross Schuler get alot of attention.

Cut would depend on length but yes threaded for a threaded brake. Stuff like Magna Porting is EDM'ed.
