    75gr vmax

On my last lot of vmax's for my 25-06 I was pushing those things at 3975fps, but on this new lot theyre starting to break up at a little over 3800. Anyone else having this problem? ???

That is almost 300 fps faster than any Hornady book I have, given how hot you are pushing, it's possible you are eating a hole in the base of the bullet.

    Re: 75gr vmax

I dropped it 1gr and it seemed to do alright. I knew it was a little warm because it didnt do this until my barrel started to warm up which caused my pressures to spike. I'm on my fourth load on neck sized brass, the primer pockets are still good and very little case stretch, so the pressures may be a little high but not extremely high

3500 fps will do the exact same thing. No need to push the envelope this hard.

not really pushing it. 57gr RL-17, It does fine until the barrel warms up. Even when the barrel is warm and the bullet is coming apart I still have no real signs of high pressure. I loaded it down to 56gr and shot those with no issues. When its stops raining im gonna load some at 55gr and 55.5 and see what happens.

I had some for my 25-06 AI and they just did not shoot very well at I think 3950fps. But, it will shoot 75gr Sierra HP good.

I think the 75 vmax being pushed that hard would be better suited to a 12 twist barrel, im gonna give the 90gr blitzkings a try.

I know that RL-17 is currently considered the second coming, by folks with no pressure equipment. According to what Alliant is listing for it, reloaders are over-pressuring the crap out of things.
