Dumb question for a newb to savages

I was wondering are the model 11/111 the same as the 10/110's and Stevens 200 actions? I am trying ti find a donor gun localy to purchase and am not finding any Stevens 200's. But can find a 11/111 at Walmart for around 350 in the combo pack. Which I would just strip off and sell all but the action.

    Thank you
    Matt

They are all basically the same.If you use a long action centerfeed in my opinion, you make it any caliber. The 3 digit models are long actions and the 2 digit is their short action. Its your choice between stainless or blued.I have both. The staggerfeed seem to have more stock selections but the centerfeeds seem to feed very smoothly compared to the staggerfeed.

Rather than pay over $300 for a donor rifle call Jim Briggs at Northland Shooter Supply (A vendor here) and get an action from him. He may have what you need and its a lot cheaper.

+1 for ellobo. No such thing as a dumb question. If you live in an area that has Academy Sports stores they may have a sale in late dec. to early Jan. on Stevens (same action as Mod 10 or 110) for $179.00 last year. Tupperware, thin bbl., 2 screw trigger. Great inexpensive action for build...... Bought one for a friend last year in .270....... it shot 1/2" out of the box w/ reloads he'd tailored for a CZ !

A quick look at Jim's web site shows almost all of his actions are over $300. The only exception is a Stevens 200 LA at $235 + shipping.

I have thought about going through Northland, the only draw back is after paying shipping and the fee for the local FFL I will be close to 275. But thanks for all the info I will have to check and see if there is an Academy sports in my area.
