    Stevens model 67e

I have a nice Stevens 67e and I was wondering from what I have searched on the net, are these really that bad of a shotgun? I know they were made with cheaper parts but many people say they are garbage. Anyone ever owned one? I would love to hear what some of you think. ~James

Good question. Hopefully somebody can answer it for you.

Are you satisfied with the gun?

My 67 12ga seems to work just fine. FWIW, I have heard and read that these were standard issue vehicle weapons for many of the prominent Police Departments back in the 80's and into the 90's. Wouldn't think that major PD's would issue complete junk to the officers, but then again it is a branch of the government. ::)

Well from what I read some of the internal parts are pot metal and are not that strong.

Over the years I have worked on quit a few of them in one form or another and I owned one for a long time the only real problem I ran into was the stright wire springs in the trigger group would lose there spring and you would have to bend them again. In one year I think I had to do it twice to my gun but I did a heck of alot of shooting that year. To me at least there kind of a work horse type of gun, not very pretty but they will do the job if you take care of them.

At one time I had two, both bought used. Well used. I later traded the one that had no vent rib, and kept the one that did. Both had been fired enough that the black coating on the alloy trigger guard had been worn away by the bases of shells being loaded. Never have had a problem with either one.
I'm left handed, so I like the tang mounted safety. I don't hunt, but like to carry a shotgun while woods walking, and the 67E goes along whenever my old SXS double doesn't.

Hi. I am about to purchase a 67 e and noticed the sight and mount on this one. Could anyone recommend or advise me on how this has been done as after searching the internet I have only found 2 example of this and was wondering if anyone else has managed it?

if Anyone could get back to me that would be great.

    Regards Andrew.

Scope mounting on a 67e shotgun.

Hi I was wondering if anyone could help or shed some knowledge on mounting a scope on a 67e. I fire mainly slugs and I am fairly accurate with the iron sights but I think a scope could be a real benefit to the gun. I see in the picture below it has been done before and have found 2 other pictures on the internet of a scope being mounted on 67e’s.

I’d appreciate it if anyone knows anything.

    regards Andrew.
