If you have bedded the action to the stock, yes. If not, bed just the action/lug/barrel nut area first.
After the above is completed, bed the forend/barrel channel. After bedding is cured (wait a couple days at least), sand the barrel channel to the fit/look you like.
I use a wooden dowel that is the same diamter as the barrel, cut a slot in the dowel the lenght of the dowel, and use 80/100 grit sandpaper to rough in. Swap to 220 grit to finish up.
You can color the bedding compound when mixing or simply paint matte black with a LIGHT coat of paint when the barrel channel has been finished to the fit you wish.
