    Took the New 111 Out

Took the new 111 out today for the first time! What a great time. It was 102 degrees in the shade here in North Texas so I only fired about 25 rounds in the new .308 at 50 yards. Had 5 different groupings all within 1 inch! Nothing to do with my shooting, I'm an average shot at best, just shows the greatness of the Accutrigger and Accustock.

Can't wait to get it out to the 100 yard range next week. What a fun rifle!

Glad to see another happy Savage owner. You should see 1 inch or less out at 100yds. I have yet to personally see a Savage that can't do 1 inch at 100yds. Most can do much better with the proper ammo.

    Good luck.

    Thanks.

Shot three boxes of ammo today (also took my Ruger .308). The Federal and Barnes seemed to shoot best. I'll take some Hornady and Winchester out also for 100 yards. The 165-168 grain seem to shoot best with both my .308's.

I'll go out to the 200 yard range in three weeks just for grins. So far I'm extremely happy with my first Savage!
