I think the 17hmr is more accuate. Although I've never shot a woodchuck with a 17hmr. I have shot some big ol Texas Jackrabbits with one and a number of p-dogs. Does a number on both.
What do you all recommend 22 mag or 17 will be for woodchuck hunting.

My 93FV in 22WMR will put 5 shots in under 5/8" at 100yds with out too much effort. Sure does a number on racoons.
204, 22 K-Hornet, 222, 223, 22-250, 22-250AI, 6BR, 243, 243AI, 6-06, 6-WSM, 250-3000AI, 270, 7-08, 7RM, 30BR, 308, 30-06, 375 H&H, 444 Marlin, 450BM, 458WM
22 mag has more choices in ammo, but that only matters if one doesn't work. I don't have a 17hmr, but all I hear is good stuff about it.
Friends don't let friends use see through scope mounts. No offense.
both well do the job it really up to you i like the 17s better but there both good
I have a friend who drops Yotes all the time with his .17, they are explosive in thin skinned game.
