Jim, do you what free bore options are available on the CBI .260 Rem reamers?

I'm gonna place on order for a CBI barrel with you as soon as I decide on what free bore I want.

Thanks

Well, I just finished the build with a Criterion prefit Jim sent me in 6.5 X 47 Lapua. Wow, barrel is beautiful. not a mark of skuff on it. Well packaged and mailed. Built it my first day home ( on leave from Afghanistan) and shot it the next. With new lapua brass ( NO prep at all, right out of the box), 34-37.5 grains of varget ( thrown with a powder measure), and SMK 120's ( no sorting at all) had groups under 1/2" ( 5rds) with the 36.5, 37, 37.5 grain loads. SMK's were .010 off the lands. Now the fun begins. Preping brass, hand weighting charges, and playing with seating depth I think I can cut the group size in half. This barrel is OUTSTANDING. I WILL be ordering a couple more before I return. Thanxs Jim

Jim,

Any chance a 300wsm reamer might find its way onto the list? Love to try one of these in a 300wsm small shank.

Sound like you've got a winner! Enjoy it while your home (as much as the little lady will allow) before you head back to the "sand box".

Will post data later but did find that this barrel likes the 120 SMK's in the lands by as much as .005" really tightened up the groups

Good info, I'll have to try that. I was always under the impression the SMKs didn't like to be jammed. You learn something every day.

I just ordered a 6.5x284 Norma Criterion barrel from Jim and it should be here in about two weeks. Does anyone know the O.D. of the barrel just in front of the action? It is a Varmint contour. I want to make sure I have the right size bushings for my barrel vise.

Just got my 7mm SAUM Criterion barrel from Jim. Looks great, matches the Savage PTA finish almost spot on. Its 28 inches and a straight taper. I hope it shoots as good as it looks. Hope to have some info in a few weeks. I have a lot of brass and prep work to do.
