Just got word my criterion prefit arrived back home for my .204. Thanks for the call Jim and thanks for the help in making the selection. Can't wait to get back from down south, set & break the barrel in and find out how it shoots. Looks like previous poster is well satisfied!

This is for Hound 53....I have my 'pet' loads for my .204 but am always looking for other successful loads. Would u b so kind as to share the bullet & powder, powder charge that you used to get that nice group with your new, broke in barrel...Thanks..Torque

Well according to my electronic scale that was 24.5 grains of RL10x pushing a 39 gr Sierra. For the 32 grain Sierra it was 25.5 grains of RL10x, best groups with a 34 grain Dogtown were with 28.0 gr Varget. Remington Brass, CCI 450 primers and yeah I know they are magnum primers but I shoot a lot of .223 in a AR platform and I prefer the thicker cup and see no reason to keep a supply of non mag small rifle primers on hand.

Now the bad news, I was double checking my electronic scale this morning against my mechanical and it was reading .2 to .3 high so I would not swear to those numbers. They would be safe since even adding .2 to .3 would still be well within manufacturers limits just cant swear to the accuracy of what I quoted you. Might want to start .2 lower than them and do a ladder using .1 increments with 5 shot groups in case our scales disagree with each other.

On the good news side I have another Criterion on the way in 260 Remington.

Got my Criterion SS 26" .257 Weatherby barrel in last Friday. Why is it everything I order arrive on weekends I am out of town? Came with new SS barrel nut and one of Jim's HD SS lugs. Packaging was great and barrel and parts look pristine.

Waiting on Durocoat paint to arrive to touch up donor action and stock from Richards Microfit to arrive. If stock is late (like it won't be), will put it it one of my Tupperware stocks and start the break in.

Thanks Jim, it is always a pleasure doing business with you.

PS the barrel arrived 5 weeks ahead of schedule!!!

Got the call mon. I believe it was. Big shiny barrel arrived tonight. Thank you Mr. Briggs for all your help. Mr. Briggs took the time to go over intended use, an do's and dont's. Spoke with me in length about everything i had any kind of question on. Just a Top Knotch guy. Very very great to deal with. Will get pics posted as soon as i get it assembled. Thank you again Mr. Briggs.

I didn't have time to look through all 26 pages of responces but I would like some feedback on a solid elk caliber like 7mm rem mag or 300 win mag

Finally getting a chance to post a pic of what this 26" barrel will do if I drive it correctly. My rifle is back on the previous page. Only changes since then is it now has a Vortex Viper on it.

It was around .78 when I put the digital caliper to it. It will do this all day long as long as I dont sling out a rando flyer, which I do from time to time.

Buy from Jim with confidence.

I was gonna flip for the AI version but decided to try the reg version and i really didnt feel like waiting two and a half months and this one was in stock. Hopefully it lives up to everything ive read so far about them. I hope to have it soon.

I just barreled another action with a Criterion barrel I got from Jim. I missed playing with a 308 so ordered a bull barrel, 28", 10 twist. I'll be firing it for the first time today with 155gr A-Max and 168 gr SMK handloads.
