Jetpig- that sounds like a great set-up! If you post pics on photobucket or similar they will give you a link to post them here. Very interested to hear ho it shoots.

It looks like it is going to do just fine in the accuracy department. Only got to run 10 rounds through it to sight it and break it in using 168g Amax's over 70.5g IMR 4350 and the last 5 rounds were in a ragged hole just over 1/2 inch. My range is only 120 yards though. Need to find some more room! Now for elk season! Checking out photobucket now...

Jim,

Are these barrels hand-lapped? Considering one for an F/Class rig for my son this year. Thanks, Tim

Tim,
All of the Criterion Barrels that I offer are Hand Lapped Match Grade Barrels.

Criterion has just advised me that they are now offering the 280 AI Chambering. I do not have all of the neck and throat details as of yet. I will update this post when that information is available.

First post so green at best! Bear with me...Ordered my first Criterion from Jim in Dec. and in the anxious, waiting, patient mode. Jim said 8-12 weeks. The light varmint will be put on a 12SS .204 and note very few posts for this cal. Any comments on experience with this combination would help during this wait! I love the gun.

I am assuming you can you get one of these in 338 RUM or 338 Edge?

Newby here, trying to get a 260 Rem/Age on a Stiller action to shoot. I am using 140 Nosler Custom Competition and can't get better than 3/4 moa at 100 yds. It is short throated for this bullet @ 2.76 COAL to the lands. McCree stock, NF 3.5x15 NPR-F1 scope, Jewell trigger and still poor groups. I've tried four different powders and all shoot about the same. What bullet seems to shoot best in this barrel?

Thanks, Steve

Is that a Criterion Rem/age or a Bergara Rem/age? I think the original ones were made by Bergara, if I'm not mistaken.

Why so short? What dies are you using? What kind of components, besides the bullets, are you using? We need more information before we can help you out.

barrel-nut, It's a CBI current manufacture purchased from Scott McCree

a/cmech76, based on previous posts, it appears that short throat is common for 260 in the pre-fit barrels. Redding competition seater die which specifically states, "do not use for compressed loads", so I seat down to the powder level with the Redding comp seater and finish with a standard seater if the powder load is compressed. Nosler brass, CCI 200 primers, H4831SC, RL 19, Imr 7828, H1000 powders.

That's a nice setup, Steve. The Criterion should shoot better than 3/4", and I think it will with the right load. Try some different bullets with the powders you listed. It may not like the NCC 140's for some reason.

Got word last night that my Light Varmint taper, stainless steel, 26", .257 Weatherby barrel shipped. That's a month earlier than was quoted. Wahoooo

Thanks Jim Briggs

Got the barrel installed the other night. Thanks for everything, Jim. We had nice weather here all week then when the weekend hits it goes to crap. Can't wait to shoot it.

Got a .204 installed and broke in. Easiest barrel I have ever broke in and tightest groups I have ever shot. Going to order a second one in 260 this week
