G'day Jim,

Are Criterion prefit barrels available for export to Australia if I do all the correct paperwork?

I have imported 3 Shilen prefit barrels and have been extremely happy, BUT last month I bought an un-used second hand Kreiger barrel (my first Kreiger) and had it chambered in 6.5 x 47L.

It shot 4 inches at 750 yards on shots 8 to 13 of break-in and 5 shots with 2 inches of vertical at 1100 yards on shots 24 to 29. Extremely happy with it too. Cleans up with no copper. It might be a 'hummer' of a barrel with some load development as it has only shot 44 rounds so far.

Cheers,

Matt

Jim,
Whats the chances of getting a small shank, straight contoured, unchambered blank .... Let's say a 7 twist .224 that will finish at 28"+? Looking to do a fast twist 223 with mile or more of freebore ;)

Well with all these Criterion barrels out there, how they performing? They holding up well, and long range shots with these barrels. Getting ready to purchase a 7mm-08 barrel and think Criterion might be my choice.

I just got in three cases of Criterion Barrels (all but five are customer barrels). We received in all of the earler back orders (prior to May 1st) for the 20 cal. and several of the 7mm and then several more misc. calibers. Spent the weekend unpacking, inspecting and repacking for individual orders. As to who's barrels came in, Brenda will be contacting customers later today when UPS orders are finalized and shipped.

Criterion is now shipping 20 Caliber orders. Leadtimes are in the 8 - 10 week time frame. More updates as additional calibers or chamberings become available. The Criterion Rem/Age Barrels are now shipping. If you would like to make your Remington 700 Deer Rifle into a year round shooter we can help with several optional calibers to choice from.

Go for it! I just shot my Criterion 7mm08 for the first time today, and it is a shooter. The new barrel took three fouling
shots to settle in and then did a five shot group 1/2" with the first load tried.

Got to shoot the new barrel today. It did very well, despite terrible conditions. Cleaned up very well, had no copper fouling. All in all very happy with Criterion. Got this barrel from Jim, who couldn't be better to work with.

Dannyg,
The Criterion Barrels are still being offered at the original pricing as listed on the sponsor's page. Criterion will be adjusting their pricing in the August/September time frame. I have not had any new pricing advised to me yet. I will post up the new pricing once it is officially released.

I completed a ladder test with my Criterion 28 inch 260AI barrel today. I started at 46 grains of H4831 SC and worked in .3 grain increments up to 48.1 grains with 140gr amax bullets.. The shots were all at 300 yards, shot from prone. I think I found an accuracy node. The small group is 0.5625 inches center to center. So roughly .187 MOA. Now is it is time play with other aspects.

One more question ...

For the small shank barrel contours, do the 26, 28 and 30 inch varmint contours all taper to the same muzzle dia? Or does the varmint contour match the 26 inch factory, and the longer lengths just run that same contour out? Thanks.

It is a pdc custom stock. www.pdccustom.com , Craig is a great guy to deal with and will build any option you can imagine into it.

Savage 308,
You posted that when you click on the link, the account comes up as suspended. I am assuming that you are referring to PDC Custom. I just wanted to clarify so someone does not see that as a reference to Criterion Barrels.
