Hi all,
Just registered a moment ago and am hoping someone can help.
I have a rifle (Savage 110 Long Range Hunter) in .308 BA that I'm trying find a replacement firing pin for.
I have searched high and low at all the usual places.
I ordered 2 from Midway and they are not the same as what my rifles has, not even close.
Any ideas will be greatly appreciated!

Is it the 1 pc version, or the standard threaded version? I have both.

1 piece version.
Apparently the "new" version.

Yeah, you can’t buy those. Savage won’t sell them to mere mortals like us...Need to go through a Gunsmith.

I make my own from S7 Tool steel. Hi bottom is the one I made. Old style, but eh..

No good. His looks like this one. All those links you posted are like mine, the picture I posted, which are the old firing pin.

Thanks for sharing that photo, Dave. Made me realize my Hog Hunter 308 has the same internals... and that I have not yet seen the "new" firing pin on any of the sites too.

Gun Shack seem to specialize in savage parts. I ordered metal trigger and few other parts for my Savage, and I also thinking of getting the entire bolt assembly. I assume eventually they will also stock new firing pins same as they do with previous. Perhaps, calling them and asking about the correct replacement part is the next logical step.

On the other hand, purchasing other internals to fit the older style action pin within the same bolt body should work too, right?

Looks like Sharpshooter supply has what you need

Is it the 1 pc version, or the standard threaded version? I have both.

Not sure exactly what you referring to Alex? Do you mean is it still ok to get the older parts from places like Gun Shack and use them I the older style? Or on HIS bolt assy? I believe the only parts which are different between the OLD & NEW style are the Firing Pin itself, spring, Cocking Piece Pin & BAS. I believe the Bolt Sleeve, Bolt Head & retaining pin, rear baffle & handle are all the same. One could use an old style firing pin assembly in a bolt sleeve which previously had the new style pin. Unfortunately, you would need the the Cocking Piece sleeve & Cocking Piece Pin as well.

Yes, I meant this

I see TW clarified above response from Sharpshooter supply. Will let OP respond to it. I took notes for future reference. Thanks

Nope, mine doesn't look that either.
How do I post a picture?
I'm not a full blown member so if I have to buy a membership I won't be able to post a pic.

There is a guy on another forum that said he did a conversion from the "new" firing pin to the "old" firing pin so I guess it's possible.
I'd rather not do a conversion if i don't have to.

You have a 110..308? Umm.. pretty sure you have something very similar to what I posted. It may look a bit different, but it’s the same design. Just not many pics of them. To my knowledge, these are the only two DESIGNS the Savage 110 uses.

Found one. The NEW Style top, and OLD Style below. YOURS looks like the one on top. As I said, it may look different, but the STYLE is the same. I believe the first one I posted a pic of may be for an Axis, as it uses the same style.
