Hi guys, before posting here, I have googled and found nothing.

My question is about enhancing the accutrigger, that is I want the trigger pull to be about 1.5 to 2lbs.

Has anyone tried changing the spring on the accutrigger, or any mod to lighten the trigger pull ???

thanks

If you can get your hands on them there is a target sear and spring available. You can get it so light that you cant close the bolt without it hitting the safety blade.

it looks like the whole trigger needs to be replaced in order for the (red) sear to work

Would someone care to point out the red sear in this picture of a target Accutrigger...

Or the different parts between these two triggers

Buy a target Accutrigger spring and you will be close to where you want to be. Maybe a polish job on the internals will finish the job.

The sear from a 10/110 will not fit Axis without milling flat on side of receiver.

That was my bad. Axis is not part of the equation. What we had was fellas that thought the red safety blade was a red sear. It is what happens when people give advice based on reading things on the internet.

The sear from a 10/110 won't fit the Axis, period.

Those of you that are paid members will be able to read this article in the FAQ
http://www.savageshooters.com/content.php?274-Factory-AccuTrigger-Part-Numbers
It lists all of the part numbers for the three versions of AccuTrigger that Savage offers for the 10/110 series.
Those of you that aren't will find yet one more reason to spend the $15 to become one.

What do you mean? Is it the question I posted or the membership fee that was mentioned?

If you replace the standard Accutrigger spring with a varmint/target Accutrigger spring you can adjust pull weight down to around 1.5#. I believe GunShack stocks them for sell.

The FAQ's are open to everyone - no need for the paid membership (though we appreciate the support if you opt to get one)

So the sear is red or he was talking about an axis?

This question was originally asked in the AXIS section, hence all the confusion.
The red blade accutrigger denotes the 6 oz. version that came on model 12 target actions. The red blade is only an indicator, itself has nothing to do with the light trigger pull. The lighter trigger pull comes from the sear, which has a different engagement angle and is identified by the dimple under the thumb piece. The red blade accutrigger will fit on the Axis, however the mating sear from the model 12 will not. The Axis sear is totally different.

Ahhh. Thanks Fred. Hopefully the other posters understand that the red blade is not a sear. BTW, Do you still supply/retail these parts, I had heard you had gotten out of that part of the business.
