Used the google foo. Leupold has a YouTube video. 18-22 inch lbs on the rings and bases and 45 inch lbs on the side screws.

Dont assume that, make sure. Call leupold unless you can find the specs in paper somewhere. I have seen rings specs for 15 inch/lbs and I have seen them up to 25 inch/lbs...

Not to hijack the thread but may I pontificate upon torqueing allen screws?
They are so small that they don't take much torque. I am amazed at how many stripped allen head screws I run across. It is more important to get an even torque on all four screws. Then let the Loctite hold them permanently.
Screws that have been removed and retightened can have a wide range of torque required to reset them. All four screws may require a different torque setting. Always hold the Allen wrench the same way in your hand. End of pontification.

Took it to the range. This thing is a shooter. Got it sighted in at 50 yards 2" low. Going to buy some more bullets and get it sighted in properly at 100 yards next trip.

Thanks. Yeah, I think I did well. I paid $240, but who's counting? :)

The guy was upgrading to a 700 in 280 Remington and let it go for a god price in my book.

Can I do a 6.5 creedmoor conversion with a long action?

Sounds like he downgraded to me lol.

I agree, but I didn't want to tell him that. :)

How dare you! The 280 to some is one of the most versitile hunting cartridges there is. Everything the 270 has and more.

I was mainly referring to the switch to remington. I like the grandfather, 30-06. Not much of a 270 fan. I hear good things about the 280, but never had the opportunity to try one out.

Yeah, I was referring to Remington as well. I don't own a single one.

Im down to one (22-250 vls) and im only keeping it because its sub moa, otherwise it would be gone. I do have three savages, a few browning abolts and a ruger no.1. Remington has really gone downhill imo.

Order the extractor ejector kit from SSS, great upgrade and the rifle will spit out the shells.

Go ahead and rock that puppy as a 30-06. Get some IMR 4350 and some 165gr HPBT Sierra Game Kings and work your way up to a max charge of 57Grs.
Once you find the node (in my experience near or at the top) you'll forget all about those other calibers and dispel any myths that the -06 is obsolete. You may also dispel a few myths about needing long heavy barrels and fancy stocks while you're at it. I have a couple of old flat backs in standard calibers with factory barrels and stocks that regularly turn the heads of the tacticool crowd and internet educated gun nuts at the range.

A little under the hood work like tuning the trigger and bedding the stock can help out too.

Yeah, if I bedded the stock and added pillars, not sure if the 110 already has some.... It may do better. I got it sighted in to 300 yards. Off a sandbag I was able to shoot just a tad over MOA using factory core lokt bullets by Remington in 150 grains. I'm happy with that for a hunting rig.

My weatherby was shooting sub MOA today at 220yards. Managed to get a 1.466" group. But it's free floated, bedded, bedding block, 1.5lb trigger, muzzle-brake, bell and Carlson stock, bipod, and custom reloads...

My 225yard groups with the stock savage from bags were 2.40".

The savage is an e88 serial number. Will a rifle basix work on this?

Wow, so took the rifle to the range and did a load workup....

I went with the Leupold offset rings and had the gun store install them. This rifle is a true tack driver. So much for barrel swapping.

100 yard shot using a bi-pod and rear bag.

Guess you don't really need that Riflebasix trigger.

Doesn't look like it. I feel sorry for the guy that sold it to "upgrade" to a Remington.

Poor sap!

Is Fred selling a kit for this or is it just the bigger ball? Didn't see the kit on the site

Are you sure that you don't need one of the ultra modern bullseye seeking whizbang calibers?? I kinda figured you'd need a fancy stock and a custom bull barrel and a few other tacticool accessories. :)
Good shootin and glad it worked out. I kinda thought it would.
