You may want to try Ramshot Hunter powder. A good friend of mine has your setup and shoots Nosler's over Ramshot Hunter. One ragged hole at 100 yards. But in fairness, your barrel is brand new....needs some break in time.

Weighs 13lbs. That's a Pentax Lightseeker on there now. Waiting on the Sightron S111 to get here.

How much do you want for the lightseeker?

The lightseeker goes back on the .243, so it ain't for sale. Exited about today. Lots of loads to test and probably take it out to 300yds of weather permits.

Edit: Dialin 'em in.

You guys are a regular bunch of comedians! Think I'll hold on to this one for a little bit longer. Already planning the next build though. Got a Stevens short action that's itchin for a new barrel.

Got mixed up. Been loading 107gr and 142gr SMK's. Been callin em 102 and 147 for some reason. My first experience with the 6.5mm, so this is definately a learning experience. My bad.

I am encouraged by your initial results. I have a 24" Shaw i waited 5 months for, and am now waiting on a Varmint action from Northland. This will be my first foray into building a rifle other than several 10-22's. I hope the Shaw shoots well, your barrel certainly does.

So question for you. Why Varget over H4350 which is what most use? Not making fun of you, just trying to understand. HUGE fan of Varget in heavy 223 and 308 (have 32# of it on the shelves). Looking to build a 260 Rem as well and have stockpiled 8# of H4350 as well as 3k Federal 210M for this project.

Gonna be using Nosler 140gr CC's. My buddy and I picked up 500 for $80 so definitely an inexpensive way to get into the caliber.

I also picked up several hundred Nosler 100gr Spitzer BT to play around with for varmint stuff.

Varget is very accurate in 260...just slower (100-125fps) than H4350 with 139-142gr bullets.

I've also found Varget to be king with the 95 vmax. I was using 42.0gr though, how fast are they moving with 38.0?
