Actually I'm OK with the dating part as long as it doesn't lead to marriage, even though under current laws that would be perfectly legal.
How long have you been dating this rifle? Sometimes the 99's can be kinda finicky and hard to get close to. I recommend the 340 series for a closer, longer and more intimate relationship... :-)

As a person who has been off this site for a long time, but now I see reference to date codes here on the rifle section starting in 1949. Am I missing something? From what I gather any date codes were only for the single & double barrel shotguns, not rifles
