Axis is short and long action?

I never noticed, but my short action 308 is also a long action.
I got a replacement stock and noticed is I got a long action bottom plate a long action 3006 mag fits perfect and 2506 loaded shells feed right up. Cool. I'm now on the prosses changing it to a 6mm 06 AI.
Who knew?

Yep, a benefit of the Axis, also a negative for folks who might want a lighter rifle that comes with a short action.
