How to Adjust Nosler Custom Handgun Trgger

    Hey guys,
I have a Nosler Custom Handgun in 22 Nosler. I bought it 3-5 years ago directly from Nosler as a used gun. It didn't come w/ instructions. I'm unhappy w/ the trigger. The original trigger pulI was 3.5#, but I could never get it to function at less than 3.5# so I ended leaving it at the factory setting. Regardless, I've killed a lot of prairie dogs w/ it. Last year the trigger got too "light" so that the sear didn't hold when the bolt was closed. I adjusted the trigger so that it was a little heavier (still 3.5#) and everything was ok. After returning from a recent prairie dog hunt, I took it apart to clean it. When I reassembled it, I had the same problem again w/ the sear not holding when the bolt closed. I couldn't find any instructions on the internet for adjusting the trigger. I spent about an hour making adjustments, varying between the trigger being too light like before, or too heavy so the hammer did not drop when the trigger was pulled. Totally frustrated, I finally got the trigger lined out and left it at its new trigger pull of 5.5#. That's not good for a prairie dog hunting handgun. I'm looking for instructions to adjust the trigger back to factory specifications. I emailed Nosler. They said the trigger is not user adjustable and I'd have to return it to them to have it returned to factory specifications. I'd pay for shipping to them and they'd pay to return. If parts are in stock, turnaround would be about 2 wks. Still working on finding cost of the trigger work. I'd rather not have to send it back if possible. At this point, eventually I'd just as soon get a custom trigger, but I haven't found anyone making a custom trigger for the Nosler Custom Handgun/Independence. I found a custom trigger for the Model 48 rifle, but the NCH has a long trigger linkage and different safety than the M48. Does anyone know how to adjust the trigger or know of a custom trigger for the NCH/Independence? Thx.
    The NCH during happier times.
    Good luck and good hunting.

It’s unfortunate you haven’t received any responses. I’m unfamiliar with the Noslers, so I’m of no help. Hopefully someone with experience with these will be able to answer your questions.

it’s been almost 3 years since I retired and haven’t been in a nosler since.

but off memory. There is a pre travel and a sear engagement screw. It should be apparent when you take it apart which does what.
