Have 3 Savage, a 223 and two 6ARC and now looking for a 4th Savage Action.
Greetings.
Been awhile. Thought I'd post a positive update.
Awhile back - I owned the Savage 110 LPV in .243. The # 1 most accurate rifle I ever owned. Stupid accurate, 1 hole groups the norm. Took it to LR school where it shined from 100 yards to 980 yards in miserable weather. Finding it too heavy to hunt with, I begrudgingly traded it for a wood, 110 Classic. Nice rifle, appealing to the "old school" in me. Typical good Savage trigger, slightly heavier barrel, showing promise on the bench with my loads
Over the months I read more & more about the 1:8 twist and heavier bullets for LR shooting. Cat's meow I tell ya. With misgivings but hopeful, traded the Classic on a Tikka T3x 1:8. Rave reviews everywhere. Testing 105 gr & heavier followed. And followed. And followed. Admittedly, I'm OCD about accuracy and especially in my Varmint rifle. After way too many failed frustrating range visits with multiple trustworthy loads, I finally gave up on the Tikka. Might have been me but my long reloading history with too many rifles says it wasn't. Anyway............
Went back and got the Classic. In my safe. Shooting ragged 1 hole groups at 100 w/ 70 to 90 gr bullets. Happy is an understatement. Longer range practice from field positions scheduled.
Older, I have to watch my hobby money carefully. Maybe you can relate? On the hobby money part. Anyway, the (atypical?) Tikka disaster has made me very much appreciate what Savage has done and is doing with their rifles. Moderator, if you can, pls extend my Kudos to their company. I'm grateful - $ well spent - expectations met and exceeded. This rifle will hunt. :-)
Cheers!

KMW......
When $ are tight - a purchase comes with heavier expectations. Reasonable expectations of the manufacturer to deliver what's promised. This Savage rifle was more than a good purchase...it was a tremendous relief! "Hopeful" expectations exceeded. More than just a tool, there's some pride of ownership involved here too.
After many decades and too many rifles to count, I believe my small rifle inventory has seen its last addition. Should that change, Savage will be considered first. All the best with your Savages.
Thanks for your comments.
Cheers.
Own more Savage rifles, by a wide margin, than any other brand.
All of mine were purchased used. One was purchased as a barreled action with zero history for $150.00. All I wanted was the action and the trigger. Intention was to build a 6BR as a target rifle. Only right after I received the action I stumbled upon a brand new, never fired Model 12 Varmint barrel 223 take-off for only $100.00.. Still shooting that gun.
With that rifle I shot against some very high dollar rifles and I wasn't embarrassed!
