...I'll check outside a few times and see if any hogs may be stirring. The skies here are clear and the moonlight strong, making for great visibility. There is frequent lightning from the north, but so far, the cloud cover from those Austin-area storms has not been a factor down here. The wind is from the south -- a definite plus -- and the temps aren't too bad, either.
I'm thinking some slow-cooked pork would sure be tasty. Better yet, some battered and deep-fried tenders from a 30-35 pounder would be about perfect!
With that in mind, I'll put the MGM .223 out on the shooting rest alongside the .300 Savage. The 55 grain TTSX would be kinder to the meat on a smaller piggie (I generally won't take a head or neck shot unless conditions are perfect, and in moonlight shooting with skittish targets, such is rarely the case.)
