    best deal?

I m area they are some goods deals on some rifles and I have saved enough to get one and just want your opinions on what is the best deal. I already have a good setup but figured that i couldn't pass one of these up. One deal is a brand new Ruger American Gen 1 243, it is priced at $399. One is a Ruger American Gen 2 243 at $519 and the third is a Savage 110 with black stock and blued barrel in 308 with Vortex Crossfire scope with drop reticle for $459. Now I have shoulder trouble that has cut me back to 243 when hunting coyote's and groundhogs as well as deer. But I thought that I might deer hunt with a 308 as not too much shooting on them at once and use my 243 for smaller stuff even tho it dropped me a deer last year. What would y'alll get? Thanks

Which do you expect a bunch of fellas on a Savage forum to pick?…lol

Go handle all of them and pick the one that fits your needs the best.
Me, I’m probably getting the savage and then looking for a 243 barrel…lol

I'd go with a .243. I'd rather have one rifle I shoot a lot and know front to back than one I only shoot a couple times a year. Check with the Ruger forums and see what they say about those rifles. I do also have to admit that I am partial to 6mm bullets :)

The Ruger gen 1. Spend the extra dough on ammo and a better scope.
I am sorry, I may have mispoke.

If you want a .243, get a .243. personally i am not a fan of my RAP gen 1 in .223. I would get one of the other two.

Not a fan of the ruger ... Could barely stand shooting my RAR in 300bo, sold it and bought a Savage...

In your position, I would look at the Howa Mini in 6mm ARC or 6.5 Grendel. I love the Howa Mini - it is scaled properly for the smaller rounds, is light and easy to carry and incredibly accurate. The 6mm ARC and 6.5 Grendel will do everything a 243 will with a bit less recoil and a lot more potential if you reload.

A starter handloading kit and some H4895. Then you can load most any cartridge you want including most of the mighty magnums to whatever recoil and velocity you want.
If you start with a Lee Anniversary Kit and a manual, die set some bullets primers and powder youll probably still have money left..
