getting close to op rod issues eh?
Loading up a couple of 50 cnt range boxes of 175 smk bullets in Starline palma brass over 41.9 gn of IMR-8208 set of with 205M primers. Last batch ran just over 2500 fps with an SD of 9. This is for my M14 with an 18.5 inch barrel in 1/10. Loves this load. Whatta Hobby!

I am sorry, I may have mispoke.
Haven't noticed any signs of over pressure yet. Tend to be overly cautious because I run suppressors most of the time. Whatta Hobby!

You know what you are doing.
We stayed mostly 155's and 168's due to seeing bent op rods with the 175s.
I am sorry, I may have mispoke.
I don't use anything heavier than 168's in the Garand. But, it's operating rod was made in 1944 and it is worn enough in the chamber that a lot of rounds went through it.
M1 ball ammo was 174gn at around 2750fps. M2 ball was 152gn at around 2800fps.
I was in the process of trying to duplicate the 175 smk load that has been working wonderfully in my new 18.5" M14. Had been using Berdan military brass and switched to Starline and neglected to add more powder. Noticed right away the fps had dropped by over 100 to 2420 and into an unstable zone. Rifle functioned just fine but he pattern of shots was not good. Glad I only loaded a couple of 50 cnt range boxes. Last night I pulled the bullets using my Hornady collet puller, easy squezzy, and dumped the 8208 powder into a container. Will be loading a ladder today starting with an additional grain of IMR-8208. Looking for 2550 fps. Whatta Hobby!

Got the load for the Starline .308 palma brass and the 18.5" WMMF barrel. Added 1 gn to make it 42.9 of IMR-8208 for the 175 smk with 205M primers. Average speed for 28 rnds is 2532.5 with an SD of 7.7. Whatta Hobby!
