    Savage Model 24, safe-to-carry?

Hi, Have recently purchased a Savage Model 24S-E 22 Mag over 20 guage. Expect to mostly carry this in a saddle scabbard. Is it safe to carry loaded? Kind of looks like a hammer strike has the potential to cause discharge. Thanks, Greg

Does it have a half-cock position? If so then yes. If not, then I'd say no.

It’s safe if it has a rebounding hammer. I don’t know how you verify this. Must be on The Google somewhere.
