    Calling all Stiker experts

    Good afternoon fellas,
Haven't posted here in a long time but come back and read things every few months.

Back when I used to spend entirely to much time on this website and tinkering with Savage builds I was always intrigued by the Strikers. I finally was in the right place at the right time and picked one up in 7-08 with a Burris scope for cheap. Shot it Friday and the trigger had to be 15lbs and mushy. Seriously it was bad! I took it out of the stock and I am not sure what I am even looing at with that trigger design. There was alot of factory grease and a little rust on all the adjustment screws. I got them all cleaned up and started messing with things. Got the trigger down to an acceptable pull but now the safety wont engage. Something needs to be adjusted but i'm not sure what. Can anyone point me in the right direction on what to adjust and how this trigger system works? I know there are 3 different versions of these triggers so I will post some pics from my phone.

    Thanks ahead of time.

first gen and worst. screw closest to roller is for the safety. if it wont set back it out. if it fires on safe turn it in. spring has to apply some pressure to trigger to make it reset. changing to a lighter wire helps lighten the pressure but still keep tension. same spring is used on rifles. Try asking on the more popular 110 board if some one has some spare lighter spring wire.

Well shit… not what I wanted to hear.

Could you clarify what you mean by closest to the roller? What’s the roller?

I think I probably have some wire still in my bin o parts from years ago.

    and thanks for your reply.

On one end of the long parallel bars there is a round roller that connects the two bars, I feel sure that’s what he is talking about,
here is my 2 cents take it for what’s worth. 1st and foremost adjust the trigger back to where it’s SAFE and safety will set.
all the Striker triggers are there down fall. BUT you can learn to live with it. I have all mine adjusted we’re they act like a two stage trigger meaning they have take up before you feel the heavy break point and all of mine break at around 4#. But I have learned to like that. I use the 1st joint of mt finger to “pull” the trigger not the tip. Now I hate a “light” trigger. People saying you have ti have a “ light” trigger to complete I say bull crap. It’s about learning your gun.
again 1st make it safe. Enjoy the big ugly, heavy Striker I do mine at 600/1000 yards Monthly 10 months of the year
