    Loading "long" 223's in Axis ll Precission


    Has anyone tried loading long {COAL of 2.55 + heavy's 77/80 gn bullets for single shot loading ? OR , loading 77 gn bullets to Mag. length {2.26} what is your results MOA ?

    The results will be the same as yours.....you'll just have to load some up and try it.

    The Precision shows a 1:7 twist so just about any .224 heavy bullet should work, maybe even the 90gn ones.

    My puny little Axis with a 1:9 twist shoots 77SMKs really well, usually 1/2 to 3/4MOA depending on me. I load them to 2.280 oal (about .020 jump). Just figure out where the bullets hit the lands and start load development.
