Savae 110 Conversion to 50-90 Sharps

Can a 110 Long Action be converted to a rimmed cartridge like a 50-90 Sharps.

I believe the rim of the .50 is too big. A .45 cal is probably doable, but, it might require a custom machined bolt head.

On a bolt gun you'd be better off going to a .458Win Mag or .450Marlin (a rimless .45-70). The twist rates are about right for heavier slugs.

I had considered a .458WM a few years ago for shooting BP. But, I realized I didn't like that kind of recoil anymore, especially in a light gun.

I believ one at least one fellow has done rimmed in a savage. He coned the barrel with a relievief for the extractor. I no Nothing about how he did that with a rotang bolt. That is all I have.
I am sorry, I may have mispoke.

A 50-90 Sharps belongs on an 1874 Sharps....
