    Left handed bolt head ?

I'm pondering on changing one of my LH 110's {probably the 6.5 CM} to 223. I have 1 question , IF I can find a LH 223 head, is it a simple swap ,or do I have to deal with the firing pin length or anything else ?

    Thank you

I believe as long as the bolt head comes from the same length action, you should be good with just the bolt head... As far as action related stuff is concerned. But you will have to either adjust the feed lips on the mag, or get one for a .223 since the case diameters are different.

I could be wrong on the bolt stuff, definitely double check... I believe bolt heads from an Axis are the same dimensions as a standard short action bolt head from a 110.

Thank you for the additional item to be specific about, ie; long or short action. My plan is to set it up for single shot because I plan to load longer than the normal 223 mag length, 2.555 (+-) depending on which bullet Wt. performs the best at 300 Yds.

On the "older" Models, there is a "button/bump/protrusion" on the inside of the bolt body so the bolt head can only be installed one way.
Remove "that" bump and the bolt head can be turned over and re installed, for right OR left.
Not sure about the later models. Done that a few times with no issues.
And I might add, I have set all of my rigs up for single shots. Ejector rod and spring removed so the brass stays on the bolt head till YOU pick it off. No chasing brass either.

Rolling a bolt head makes ejection impossible, so if your not going to use the ejector.... Otherwise...
if you are making a repeater you might consider buying the long tail front baffle also. And the correct magazine to finish it off.
I am sorry, I may have mispoke.

Post # 3 says he's going "single shot". No need to eject, just extract. Rolled bolt head (as you call it) is the bomb.
