Savage ~ Axis II XP ~ .308 - is it a good choice?

    Hi
I am looking at a really good deal on a new in the box axis II in .308, FDE Cerakote Finish and in Camo. I am looking at hunting deer and coyotes 3 or 4 times a year, plus plinking at the club. I am trying to be budget conscious, or should I wait and save for the 110?

    Thanks!

For 'normal' use in stock form the Axis is as good a choice as any, especially for the price. The Axis I got at Walmart several years ago remains one of the more accurate rifles I've owned.

The main problem with the Axis is limited aftermarket options.

    I ended up with (3) 6.5mm creedmoor.
    My stainless groups .3 MOA.
    My blued groups .32 MOA
IDK about my 2nd blued, I am not going to fire it.
Extraction, ejection are all fine. I did need to tweak one stock
