    Bottom metal magaizine for AICS

Decided to start another thread on this question. Put my 10 FCP SR in a GRS chassis. Had to use the bottom metal magazine piece from my savage chassis. Want to change to AICS magazine. Found this one from gunshack..... https://www.gunshack.com/savage-part...ne-frame-bbr-1 . Just want to make sure before ordering that this is what I need to use AICS magazines. Is this the correct piece I need? Also, Do have some 308 AR AICS magazines. Will these work if I get the correct bottome metal piece for AICS magazine? Appreciate any info on this.

I have never seen any .308 AICS mags that is designated specifically for ARs.
As far as I know, all AICS mags in a specific caliber are the same, although plastic AICS mags generally have less OAL space than metal ones because the width of the outside of the plastic mag is thicker than the metal ones.
My MDT .308 plastic mags allow an OAL of 2.845 and my aluminum AICS mags allow 2.885 OAL.
If you reload, and try to adjust for Jump, the mags with more OAL range might be helpful.
If you shoot factory ammo, most factory ammo comes with an OAL that is about 0.005 shorter than SAAMI specs so any AICS mag for your caliber would work with 0.308 factory ammo.

I have no experience with your gunshack part, so I can't say if it will fit your GRS chassis, but I would expect that an AICS mag for 0.308 caliber would fit the gunshack part.
My 6.5mm CM AICS Mags are actually .308 AICS Mags. The gunshack link points that out as well.

I have 2 plastic ones I used when I put a savage 10T in a cadex chassis years ago. Have used them in my 308 AR’s too. Figured I would ask to be safe before ordering. I do reload so will start looking for metal AICS mags. Thanks for the information.

The Savage bottom metal seems to be well priced. I was a little cynical since they also made the horribly designed/functioning Savage magazine (IMO) which is why I decided to bite the bullet and go with the Accurate Mag which included a metal magazine for $175.

Your accurate mag doesn’t fall out like the savage proprietary magazines do? Thats my biggest complaint on savage rifles. Usually on 3rd or 4th round to chamber, the dam magazine falls right off on my 10 round magazines. Reason why I sold off all my other savage bolt rifles. Decided to keep this one as it’s sub MOA @100 yards.
