Savage 99 .303 Carrier work for 30-30

Good Mornin All,
I'm trying to help a friend restore his dad's Early Savage 99.
It is a 30-30 and he is missing the Rotary Carrier.
I have posted a request on the Part Page as well.
Been doing some digging and for conversion of the .303 to 30-30 looks like it's just a Barrel Change.
So I suppose the question is.
Will a .303 Rotary Carrier work for 30-30?

The Wikipedia page for 303 Savage has a side-by-side photo of the 303 and 30-30. Based on that, I would say no.
