Welcome to the group!
I'm a retired engineer with OCD and an absolute Rimfire Nut, that's expanding my centerfire usage for days when the RimFire range is reserved or too busy. Although I respect and appreciate all forms of shooting; except for a little semi-auto 22lr steel shooting, I only shoot from the bench at ranges. Being retired, I can pick and choose my range days and avoid the crowded weekends. In a typical year from the bench, I'll shoot 10,000 rounds of 22lr, 2,000 of 17 HMR and around 2,000 various centerfire cartridge.
During retirement, I'm applying my engineering, problems solving and optimizing skills to rifles. Thus, few rifles remain "as purchased" for very long, with Savages receiving the fewest "tweaks".
My experience has been Savage rifles come out of the box accurate with better triggers than similar (and more expensive) priced brands. The downside is most have not fed as well as some other (less accurate) brands.
I'm also enjoy ballistics, pay attention to minute details (especially cleaning) and an optics nut.
