Welcome Jack. Those redfields carried a well deserved reputation. Hope you finally get to enjoy shooting. Next thing you know you will have a creedmoor. : )
Just saying hello. Being frank, new to all things guns and, just starting to learn here in the back part of life...Purchased a Winchester shotgun a few years ago and went to the range a few times with my friend, who is very knowledgeable. I didn't enjoy shooting it so, I traded it in for a 1985 Ruger M77 30-06. Beautiful gun but again, for the range I found it was just too powerful, and I was not enjoying the experience. So, I did some research on smaller caliber. I also like vintage items, as I own vintage cars, radios, guitars, boats...Probably reflects a longing for a bette time....Anyway, my research lead me to 243 cal, which would have less kick but still be good if I decided to go hunting with my buddies. Further research, including this website, led me to considering the Savage 110L 243 cal...So, I searched and was thrilled to find a vintage 1964 110L. The Ruger M77 was right-handed and I am a lefty. Perfect match...I purchased the 110L online and it was delivered to my local gun dealer. He told me it was in beautiful condition and also, he said the scope was an excellent vintage Redfield scope (Again, a topic I know nothing about). He also purchased the Ruger from me. Everything worked out perfect. So, here I am, joined up so I can continue learning. I'll say in advance, I appreciate all of you and your expertise.
Regards
Jack
