    322a 22 hornet

My dad got this 22 hornet from my grandpa 25+ years ago when he was getting older, I remember finding a box of rounds but we never shot it. I recently got my hands on it and got it cleaned up, it is in great condition however no magazine. I the only website I found with vintage parts was numrich gun parts. It appeared it was the correct clip for my model 322-a. The magazine clips slides in appears to fit but does not load the round high enough to load properly. Curious if anybody has any ideas or input.. I have single loaded and shot the riffle super fun. Excited to get a clip and re-break it in and have it ready for my son to learn with.

You might have to play with the feed lips on the magazine. I have a couple model 23's and had to adjust the lips. A needle nose pliers is your friend. I've never had good luck with Numrichs aftermarket parts. Ebay also has mags for sale. Your rifle is the same as a Savage 340.

Big Al1 is correct. Make sure th mag is seated all the way. I sometime pull the bolt out and look in from the rear to see the attitude of the round and work from there until it works acceptably. I am kind of giddy about you getting that rifle out and having fun with it. I remember the same things with my dad and the hand me downs.
I am sorry, I may have mispoke.

Hey cool, I appreciate the feedback. I have been messing with the lips. I am still well shy. I don’t think the clip is seated right. The tinkering continues!

Well turns out you had me on the right track..have it kicking the shell up at the right angle and filtering through rounds decently. Usually 4 sometimes all 5. The last one Gets a little jambed up at times. I am sure a little more messing around or now I know the trick I’ll get a couple more. Thanks again.

I had the same issue with a .32-20. It would feed all but the third round, just had to massage it a bit more!!
