    257 JDJ Powder

I have been using Reloader 15 in the 257 JDJ and I’m running low on it. 😭
It’s probably been a year since I have seen any and since Reloader 15.5 has been
released I doubt the will manufacture any Reloader 15. JD’s load data sheet lists
IMR4350 power so I think I’ll give it a try since I have 8lbs. What powders are you using?

Re-15 was THE powder for the 14" .257 JDJ I used to have. And it was great in the Bullberry chamberings as well. But it seems to be history -- at least for now.

IMR-4350 will work, but if you have any H4895/IMR4895/AA2495, those should do very well in your carbine barrel. Ditto for Varget/SW Precision and even IMR and AA 4064.

I'm using SW Precision in the .270 JDJ, and the accuracy and consistency have been amazing. It is a great replacement for Varget except that now it seems to be gold-plated going by the current pricing.

My 226 JDJ likes H4831 SC and AA4064, however there is no listed load data using it that I know of. I shoot 80 gr. Bullets.

i just purchased a 6mm #2, interesting in hearing which powders work for you in the 257.

I would try AA2015, AA2520 or AA2495. Around my area normally you can find some of these Accurate Powders on the shelf.
If it were me I would start with AA2520 with my starting load around 1 Full Grain under what you would start with using RL15, and work up.
I have been using AA2495 in my 6.5x30JDJ (120-123 Grain Bullets) with good results. Good enough that if I decide to try another powder it will be AA2015 or AA2520.
Do some research comparing AA Powders to a known quantity such as your RL15, and go from their.
