Here are pictures of the mount. I don't think it is a No 1, but a swing away by Pachmyer.
Any help is appreciated.

A friend has a .300 Savage with this mount, but it is not all right. The gun shoots incredibly high and right and after some inspection, it appears the scope is not rotating all the way to the right and locking in place. There is a nub at the front that is hitting the receiver at the front, but the rear clip (?) is not engaging a small finger on the top section of the scope. We had not taken any picture, but I have asked him to send me some so we can identify the parts I am describing. I found instructions online, but they talk about another locikng ring with a hex screw to latch the scope down that we do not have.
Hopefully, someone has had prior experience and can point us in the right direction.
Thanks in advance.

Is the scope hitting the rear sight?
No it doesn’t. It hits on the pin at the front of the mount on the Savage receiver.
Worked on it today and increased the engagement on the tab so it holds with more pressure. The scope still pops up a bit during recoil, but the gun is shooting closer to aim after a little work.
Thanks all,

I had a very similar side mount on a savage 340 I picked up for the boy. I had to replace it with a side mount picitiny rail mount as it housed a 24mm 1x4 scope. The swivel Pachmayr mount wouldn’t properly mount a current 40mm scope.
