See what Brownells has, and maybe Midway!
Make sure those barrels are actually screwed in, some my just be a press fit and pinned.
I have to remove barrels (shot out) from half a dozen or so Savage/Stevens Model 6's, 987, and variant gill guns - my wrenches are way too big and before I cobble something up thought I'd ask if anyone has found one of the existing wrenches that will do the job and protect the receiver from damage?? Thanx!!![]()

Thanx - have sent a note to Brownells but haven't heard back yet - had a pinned 6a and that cane out easy enuff - these are in a lot of mixed models that someone will be sending me to work on so haven't had them in hand to see if screwed or press fit
They are all pinned, which had me wondering why you would need a wrench. You can just press then out of the receiver with the pins out. Not all vintages or models use the same number pins, and I don't know how consistent the pin locations are, so I don't know how well existing holes for the pins will line up if you change a barrel.
Got 3 more in today and all had pinned bbls - thanks for your note - that helps - had seen a post somewhere on another forum that referenced threaded bbls on some models so wanted to be prepared as have a good customer bringing some in and owe him a favor as normally don't handle these
