    Need help identifying Stevens shotgun

Hello, I have an old Stevens 12 DB that I am trying to identify. I was told it was a 311 but the tang measurements are not agreeing with this so far. I measured the top tang about 2 5/8 but it could be 7/8 depending on how you measure it. It has the StevenS name listed just as I spelled it with the flying duck. I'm trying to determine model to get a replacement stock as the original is cracked and fitted loose.

Checking this further, I think this could be a 315??

Not sure if I can help any as I'm fairly ignorant when it comes to the old Stevens doubles, but I did just happen to get the 1929 and 1942 Stevens catalog in the mail recently that I snagged off Ebay. Unfortunately the descriptions and such in them isn't going to help me help you as they're fairly vague and the lithograph images aren't going to help much either as they don't show any close-up details.

The 1929 catalog lists the following SxS models...

    No. 330 "Stevens Hammerless" in 12, 16, 20 and .410 gauges

No. 335 "Stevens Hammerless" in 12 and 16 gauges

No. 235 "Stevens Hammer" in 12 and 16 gauges

No. 311 and 315 hammerless models, and the No. 215 hammer are all three branded as Springfield Arms Co.

The 1942 catalog lists the following SxS models...

    No. 530-M in 12, 16, 20 and .410

    No. 530 in 12, 16, 20 and .410

    No. 530-ST in 12, 16, 20 and .410

No. 311, 5151, and 5151-ST are all branded as Springfield Arms Co.

Somewhere between 1942 and 1950 they merged the separate Savage and Stevens catalogs into one, and somewhere during that time span the No. 311 was changed to be under the Stevens branding as that's how it's listed in the 1950 catalog.

I think this is a 315 but the stock that came on this gun is several inches shorter than a standard 315. I ordered a 315 stock from Boyds but the mounting bolt is too short to screw in. I don't know if Boyds didn't build to stock size in bolt channel or if this gun was available with a shorter stock and it had a slightly shorter mounting screw. It appears it's about 1/2 too short to start the threads.
