Hey all,
My wife bought me the Vortex Diamond back 3-9 x 40mm Rifle Scope for christmas a few years back. it was originally meant for a different build but i ended up needing it for my Savage Model 11 in .308. This is the pre Accu Trigger design. I put hte scope on the rifle and got it zeroed but i find the eye relief is way too far forward. I was looking for the best way to mount the scope a bit closer to my face so i don't have to lean so far forward to get proper sight picture. i was thinking a picatinny rail (Like EGM), but every time i look at one it seems to not mount the scope far enough back to make a difference. I'll need to bring the scope back at least a couple of inches. i welcome any and all suggestions as this was my first time swapping scopes and i'm sure mistakes were made in buying and mounting it.
thanks.
Jay

The EGW rail , plus the Weaver rings posted in the previous thread should get the scope back far enough back for you.

I also had to cut away part of the front of the rail so the scope objective would not hit the rail. Not a big deal, just use a file or dremel tool or grinder (cover the receiver with tape so you don't gouge it).
A good idea for many projects.(cover the receiver with tape so you don't gouge it)
I am sorry, I may have mispoke.
Unfortunately one I learned the hard way. And I sometimes still forget to do it
Might look funny but a cantilevered one piece mount, put on backwards could give you 1 or 2".
