Stevens Favorite 1915 date around 1915-1920

I was looking on GunBroker for a Stevens Favorite in 22lr. found several that I liked but I did not want a real expensive one. Thought I would buy a older one in good working condition. Some of the really nice ones were 5 to 6 hundred dollars. I bought this one for $300 and the seller said it has very good bright rifling when asked. Also said after another email is that it function perfectly. Talked to them when paying for it and she said that it really is a sound nice rifle. We will see. I am looking foward to cleaning this up getting the rust off of her and making her mine. I am a real 22lr. fanatic. Pictures to come when everything done and settled.

When I received it off of GunBroker I was very much surprised at what she really looked like. She looked a lot better than you would have ever thought. I had already bought a new firing pin for her, luckily because she came with a broken firing pin. Cleaned the rust and checked the bore out. Good rifling and no rust just a little frosty not bad at all. Fixed the broken butt plate with a remanufactured plate and boiled that plate to form it to the curve of the stock. Sanded and fitted. Waxed the stock and took her out to shoot. She is a shooter and very pleased. She does take you back to simpler times. I do not remember when I have had this much joy shooting a single shot rifle. She might be my favorite rifle that I own right now. I enjoyed her that much. Anyway here she is in all her old glory. CCI SV only for this Olé Girl

    Thank you guy's,

Very funny that I have several and do mean several lever action rifles of all calibers. Funny thing is I enjoyed shooting this single action as much if probably not more. I really enjoyed this little rifle.

Nice score! Great old guns from more simple times. I feel the same way whenever I take one of my lever guns to the range - they're just so much fun to plink around with. No scopes to fuss with, rarely ever a feeding/ejection issue, etc. Probably the same reason I prefer my SxS shotguns over semi-auto's and pumps anymore.

    J.Baker,

Agree totally. I have autos for carry and one Mark II target pistol for plinking. All my Long guns are lever action except one bolt action target rifle and another one that is a Savage 66 that I have redone. All others are lever action rifles. Model 92's 1886 1895's 39A's and BL-22's. Only shotgun I have is a Stagecoach SXS, yes I am stuck in the past and the newer stuff I have no interest in at all. All though I may find me a nice Marlin model 60 for the stable soon.
