UBR targets are .22, .243, and .308. Those are your primary BR sizes shot. The in between calibers
are adjusted up to fit and not down The main argument is that some may say a target handicaps a certain
caliber when actually the shooter's choice of caliber is the problem and not the target since the target
is published fact. I choose 7mm that's my choice, and forces me to be a few thou more accurate. Lets say
someone decides to build a bench gun in .277, 270 cal. ?? He would also have to shoot on the .308 target.
Same as .17's and 20 cal, They would have to shoot on the .22. It just levels the playing field overall, and
keeps one single caliber from being dominate.....At this past match, there was a mix of 30's an 6mm's in
custom class. It was close, and the 6mm pulled it off for the win. In Hunter class a .22 won the overall.
Never count out the .222 !!
Keeping my bad Karma intact since 1952

better then religion. I know when the bullets are not playing well. Been at this awhile.
No offense man about the tension. We have both been at this this awhile seriously. I just know my metal metrology and despite all the stuff they do to make brass better for cases its a finicky metal and subject to bumps and bruise because its soft. This gets critical especially if you jump to the lands a fairly long distance.

Bottomline due to its maleability all it takes is a bump when loading into the chamber or handling rounds and you have a flyer. Yes I know your careful with handling just mentioning this for others. If I see that hole I dont like I mark the brass and it goes to the test case bin. That is one reason I choose to have a single load breach instead of a magazine. Just my two cents.

Good stuff Fuj, thanks for keeping us updated on your new rifle. Cant wait to hear more..

Thanks Fuj. I thought I remembered it that way.

It was nice that they did the different targets. When folks went to larger calibers it did hurt the 'little' guys. Cast bullet BR is still like that. I still remember turkey shoots where folks would bring out slug guns with .75 bores so they could cut the string easier.

A long time ago a group of folks out here talked about scoring based on bullet center, not edges. Don't why they did not continue with that type of scoring but it would do away with caliber advantages. Probably too much error in scoring.

Not so much a matter of scoring error as it is the time consumption. Scoring large numbers of targets takes time. We have 20+ members that shoot in our winter league and at the same time there is always a bonus money shot which gets measured center to center and I would hate to have to score those myself.

Yeah, I didn't take in the time factor either. And the scoring in tight matches is tough. Not a job I'd like. Watching those guys deliberate on close shots and the stress they were under to get it right.
