Very nice Fuj', looking forward to seeing more great targets. Speaking of targets, that one has an uncanny resemblance to a 45rpm record. LOL.

Have our 1st match Sat, hoping my new load raises some eyebrows.

its Amazing what a PTA action can do with the right barrel. Great stuff Fuj'! I really like the longer barrel nut and may it give a try as time permits!

Coffee can lid. Been doing that for years. A big ol' white dot looking down the bore makes for a nice sight
    picture.

I was'nt going to but, I'll head back out this morning and do a 1/10th grain test on either side
of that node in between those groups that are in the ones. Looking at a 10 mph wind, I'll put
out a couple of extra flags.

And Phil !! No pressure. Post em' up......

Nice!! Like your setup too, lot different than mine, something I can work on.
I'll post results after the match, forecast sucks, 3/4" snow between 0500 - 1000 changing to rain/snow thru noon, SW winds 9 -15, gusts 16 - 30 (range faces north). Backers and targets will be soaked.

Last target for the powder work ups. And like I mentioned, just 1/10th grain on either side.
I'm going to set all this aside until our weather here along Lake Erie stabilizes better. And
that will be a month or more. At that point, I'll pick the ones from the targets to do the
seating depth tests......Last group on this card shows a prime example of bad bench manners.
It's the only group fired that one shot is not touching !!

Nice. I do hate bad manners :) You could just blame it on the cold or wind. :) I know my bench manners are a still a major issue for me.

Am sure my bench manners are poor, then again, the benches suck which compounds issues.

While waiting on the weather to be a bit better for real serious testing and tweaks, I've been sneaking this into
the related 2025 interlinked projects. First mock up......

ok, so what is that? So you can use Wilson seating dies on the press instead of an arbor press?

It will be used to seat cores into jackets. The long rod is the knock out assembly.

Large primer cases are killing me, and has me rethinking quite a bit with an added shooter in
the mix......As it is; This year may be the last I compete with anything having a large rifle
primer in it. With tax, haz. and shipping, good LP primers have now reaching the $200 mark,
and that's if they can be found. Same with powder. I can't get 8lbs of it in, for what I need for
less then $500, and in the larger cases, it's does not last long. Like I mentioned.....Rethinking !!
I agree what ever happened to the days when it was less than 2-bits per round? Look at what factory rounds cost these days usually $2 per round.

To help I found this load caclulator on the internet. Ultimate Reloader seems like a straight shooter (no pun intended) so I think this calculator can be trusted. I have not compared it to actual cost and doing the long math, but it seems very close.

I went to all small primers mainly for stocking simplicity. It also helps with loading presses not having to change primer rams.

I like to have at least one rifle that is cheaper to shoot. Used to be my ;308 cast buller rifle. Now it is my .223. Small amount of powder and mine does really well with 77SMKs that are reasonable in cost.

I can't say cost isn't an issue, but, I end up shooting a lot of bullets that come in yellow boxes :)

Been busy.....First match is in one week. Finalized a load for it and shot this. After the first 3 shots,
I held to the top of the 10 ring and thought I had a flier. I repeated the same hold and it held. It was
was absolutely dead calm. I'm expecting crazy weather for next Saturday. First match of the year is
always the 100 yard UBR. The Pa. boy's I shoot with don't miss many of them center dots.

A strong 4th place anyways, and payback and win stickers only go back to third place .....LOL
I need to head to the range tomorrow and do a check to 200 yards. Anderson Creek has a club
house with indoor bench's enclosed in an old back porch and 200 yard range, If the weather gets
bad, and it may, they will cancel the outdoor 100 yard match and move the guy's indoors. So I
better have a look before hand before finding myself fighting a bit.....I need to recheck the scope
also. I pulled the March because of a weight issue and put the NF-Comp back on it. I need the gun
set for 22 lbs or under for most of the shoots this year. That March High Master put's me 10 ounces
too heavy, and I just don't want to cut this barrel back to make weight when it's shooting this good.

The engineer's creed. If it doesn't work it can be fixed. If it works it needs an upgrade. :)

Fuj' you mention UBR . Would you mind if I PM'ed you with questions? I first seen reference to this on Accurate Shooter. I have been to their website and emailed Danny.

It is what it is, fellas. Started this thread way back in September, so it's been hectic. I blooded the new
7.2 Greedmore wild cat on the new build at our first 100 yard UBR match of the year. I did'nt do good
but did not do bad. Considering everything involved, I'm pleased.....I'll start by saying that bullets are
my biggest concern and that project still is in a long process. The varmint bullets have been great for the
work, but they are not a custom true match bullet. Even with an anal sort, the flyer's are still there. We
shoot 4 targets, and i shot two nines on each target. With the guy's and gals I shoot with, you lose if you
shoot one nine. Conditions were good with flags always looking good......The rifle shoots, just need to get
the bullet situation worked out, and I'm on it.....Did not get a copy of the standings and see it's still not
posted. I'll get it up when it shows. In the mean time, this is what the rifle was doing. I seen a thread on
this site about a 1/4" challenge. I need to hit a 1/16th" dot. Note the target says .308 ?? I have to shoot
it because it's the closest to 7mm......I probably wont get to another match until the Pa Tack Driver Lite
towards the end of June. Hopefully during that time period, I can get some bullet work done, along with
getting the tuner installed on the barrel. I still have a weight concern to work on before adding the tuner.
Plus a tuner is worthless with bullets that inherently have a mind of their own.

Been following you in silence. I do have a question, it seems the UBR is a thing east of the Mississippi River. Any comments to this?

Second question, is it the bullet or inconsistent neck tension causing the flyer?

The way I understand it, and like everything.....When a sport needs a change or a new direction
to boost participation, there are those that resist change of any kind. So UBR was formed and
hit the ground running. UBR is strictly score shooting......As for maybe tension ?? i control that
better then religion. I know when the bullets are not playing well. Been at this awhile.

For some reason I thought there was a .22 (or 6mm), 7mm and .30 targets. Or is that just in the other BR category? Certainly is a handicap to shoot with smaller bullets.

Hope you get it figured out.
