Rebarreling Savage 220 Stainless to 12 gauge- dumb idea?

I'm looking for a true stainless steel shotgun, and the savage 220 stainless thumbhole looks to be the only true stainless (not cerakote) on the market currently. However, I would personally try to remove the 20 gauge slug barrel and but a smoothbore 12 gauge barrel on. How dumb of an idea is this, and is it even possible with the other parts of the action being made for 20 gauge?

Yes...that is a dumb idea. The 220 was engineered as a 20 ga., so 12 ga. is not even possible.
