Scope mount bases and rings recommendations and advice

I have a 110 flat back that I need to mount a scope on and the millet angle lock system that I have now is not ideal I had to turn them around backwards to make my new scope work and I don't like the look of it and plus I don't want to mess with the angle windage adjustment... I like to have my scope mounted pretty far back so that's a pain and I have a new 3x9x40 Burris that I'm going to be using and apparently newer scopes have shorter bodies than the older ones so I'm going to have to have it back as far as possible can someone recommend some good rings and bases that are not astronomically expensive???? Or maybe just some really simple advice on how to set the millet rings up because I don't have an alignment tool and I don't have the steel bars and all that stuff I could round up a piece of dowel maybe ....

Use a 1-piece scope rail & set of Picatinny/Weaver rings.

    EGW rail: https://www.amazon.com/EGW-Savage-Ac...ps%2C99&sr=8-3

Honestly with Rings, there are hundreds of options that all work. These three are just a few I think fit for platform well & are about the least expensive I would use.

    Warne Rings 1” LOW- https://www.amazon.com/Warne-Scope-M...-30&th=1&psc=1

    Leupold Rings 1” LOW- https://www.amazon.com/Leupold-Weave...8&sr=8-42&th=1

    Weaver Rings 1” LOW- https://www.amazon.com/Weaver-Grand-...%2C103&sr=8-41

I am another that likes rails. Even the cheap Weaver. The only rings I would stay away from are the ones that split vertically, like some of the Warne. They work well, but, are difficult to set up, at least for me.

If you ever want to mess with the Millett or Leupold type twist lock mounts then do get dowels of the right dia and put accurate points on them. Works well for a one time thing.
