    Target action cartridge fitment

I am toying with the idea of screwing a fast twist Shilen barrel in 6.5 PRC into a Savage model 12 Single shot target short action. I know that I will need to change the bolt face. Since it is a single shot -solid bottom- I canít imagine there will be any issues as far as cartridge overall length with heavy for caliber bullets like there would be under the right circumstances with a magazine, is that a correct assumption?

Are there any potential issues that I am overlooking?

Am hoping to shoot the 150 odd grain Berger bullets for hunting.

    Thank you for your time-
    UnkleJimmy.

BTW, I’d recommend checking out Bugholes. They offer Brux and Bartlein drop ins in the more popular profiles like Palma & M24. They use their own barrel nut to accommodate these.
