    Alcohol as I understand it is the best on surfaces. Finding it is
    easy. It's said you should have about 70% purity. Isopropyl can
    be found as a gasoline additive for cold weather, although a
    typical rip off since most our gasoline's are 10% ethanol. And
    speaking of ethanol, yes it's just as good. Can be found at any
    liquor store. Good o'l Moonshine !! And then there's methanol.
    Most race shops carry it.

    I would stay away from bleach if you can. Bleach and metal don't always get along. Isopropyl alcohol above 70% would be optimal, as you could use it in a spray bottle and any that you can't get wiped off will evaporate. Be cautious since it is a flammable liquid. Follow up with a light oil wipe down of metal surfaces.
