Nice find!
I picked up this interesting 1907 Savage pistol brought back by a WWII GI. According to Bailey Brewer JR's awesome book on Savage pistols it was made between 1917-19 and was one of 1000 produced with a painted finish. I may send for the factory letter.
Nice find!

I wonder if that pistol might have originally gone "Over There" during WWI and been captured by a German soldier. It's strange that a Savage would come home as a US "bring back" that was not part of the Savage sales to France or Belgium unless it went over with a doughboy.
Hello, if you might have any interest in parting with it please let me know I would be interested. I tried to send you a private message but see that you have that feature disabled or blocked in your settings on the forum.
