Stevens model 62

I called my favorite gunshop today asking for a savage 64. He didnt have one but would be glad to get me one. He tells me he has a Stevens 62 that he would sell for 60bucks but he thinks the firing pin is bad.

I have never heard of a stevens 62, he says it looks just like a sav 64 "best i can tell it is the same gun" were his words.

Anybody know anything about them? and can I still get parts from Savage?
I have not seen the gun, it is about 30 miles from home so I will have to wait till the weekend.

I found a pic of one on a blog and it looks just like a 64. Numrich shows a firing pin instock for $4. Guess I will go buy the gun this weekend. :D

We have all kinds of longrange target, F-class, and shortrange BR rigs, AR's and hunting rigs but, my son and I have been really enjoying pplinking with the .22's lately. To tell the truth, I had forgotten just how much fun it is!
